What ?

In this class, we’re exploring a variety of movements and coordinations involving the arms, while also learning how to move them segmentally, smoothly and fluidly.

Why ?

If we’re looking at what a typical day looks like for most of us, we can see an emerging pattern in the way we use our arms: elbows bent and wrists flexed. Whether we’re on the computer, on the phone, writing at a desk, shopping with a cart, or driving, we find ourselves holding this pattern a lot.

Our arms, much like the rest of our entire bodies, need a wide variety of movements to promote the health and longevity of their tissues. Reaching overhead and back, carrying weight, rotating, pushing, pulling… Our arms are what allow us to interact with our environment, so we want them to be supple, strong, and adaptable.
