I – Who we are

Noémie Clémenceau (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the Three Wise Monkeys website (the “Service”).

 

II – What personal data we collect and why we collect it

To be able to use the Service, you’ll need to create an account and provide some personal information in order to use it. The information listed below is kept indefinitely unless you decide to change or delete it.

Email address

Your email address will be our mean of communication if we need to contact you or allowing us to answer to you and identify your account if encounter any issue. This email address will be your only mean to retrieve your password if you lost it.

Name

When you create an account with us, you have the option to provide your name. Your name is used for enhancing your experience when using our website. You’ll see your name displayed in the “dashboard” and in “my account”, and other pages on the website. You don’t have to provide your real name if you don’t want to, you can simply use a nickname.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Forum content

  • Messages

If you are using the forum, the messages you’ll post will remain there – unless you are deleting them or they aren’t respecting our Terms & Conditions, in which case we will delete them. These messages stay on the forum and are only use to engage with the community.

  • Profile information

The information you’ll decide to provide in your forum profile, such as your displayed name, your avatar, your biography, your website, your occupation, and your social media profiles, will be available for other users to see. They aren’t mandatory information, you can leave the fields blank. The purpose of providing this information is to enhance the community experience and help to get people to know you better and engage with you on other platforms.

  • Activity

Your activity on the forum will be visible to other users.

Contact forms

When you are contacting us via the contact forms embedded on our website, you’re required to provide your name and email address so that we can get back to you and identify your account if you opened one with us. We’re not holding on to the messages we answered; they are deleted once the conversation between us comes to a closure.

 

III – Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

IV – Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

 

V – Analytics

Jetpack Analytics (https://jetpack.com/support/privacy/) and Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the country the request is sent from.

The inbuilt interface of WordPress allows us to see the date you created your account, the last time you logged into your account, and how many times you logged into your account from the day of its creation. This information helps us to draw statistics about the frequency to which our users are using the Service.

 

VI – What third parties we use

These third parties may have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Stripe

To process your credit card payment, we’re using a secured system provided by Stripe. When you enter your credit card information on our website, there is no way we can access it – all the information goes through Stripe’s system. V – Links To Other Sites

VI – How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

 

VII – What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16 (“Children”).
