The pelvic dance is the circular motion of your pelvis throughout its ranges of motion. Starting with some anterior and posterior pelvic tilts, we’ll progressively build towards a wave-like movement that will mobilizes your hips and lower back.
Since our pelvises are at the jonction between our lower and upper bodies, their mobility is essential and can play a big role when it comes to the level of comfort we experience in our hips and lower backs. In our everyday lives, we’re often alternating between moving our pelvis anteriorly and posteriorly in a linear fashion, but we rarely visit diagonals or smooth glides from one side to the other. That’s why the pelvic dance can be a handy move to practice.
